Sadly it was time to say goodbye to Georgian Bay. Port Severn was the first lock on our return down the Trent Severn Waterway. It’s an extremely busy lock and the smallest in the lock system, just 84’ long and 23’ wide so there’s barely room for us and another boat our size. It was indeed crowded especially with an additional nine jet skis packed in with us.
Big Chute was also extremely busy and just as thrilling the second time.

We wanted to eat at the Waubic restaurant which you can only get to by boat, but there docks were completely full except for the dock reserved for takeaway.
We were hoping for space on the dock wall preferably up top where there is power on the lock wall at Swift Rapids again, but there wasn’t even space at the bottom so we thought to press on to the next lock. We weren’t sure though if we’d make it by 6:30 when the next lock closed, and we weren’t sure if they’d have space either, so we decided to anchor in Sparrow Lake instead. But then our plans changed again when we came upon two families in a motor boat trying to row toward shore and keep off the rocks. They had run out of gas, so we ended up towing them to a marina at the very southern end of Sparrow Lake. It made sense just to dock there ourselves for the night. The families were very grateful and the dads came by to buy us drinks which was very nice of them, but we ended up just banking some good boating karma instead.
