Fri July 31:  Bustered Islands to Pointe au Barile (Kitsilano Bay anchorage)

The air was soft and cool as we left the anchorage and we retraced our route in following the path we made on the chart plotter, our reasoning being that if we didn’t hit any rocks going in, we wouldn’t on the way out if we stuck to the exact same route. We passed the anchorage we were in on the way up on the opposite side of the islands, and no one was stern tied this time.

Once we were out of the anchorage we continued following what has proven to be the very well marked small craft channel all through Georgian Bay. We’ve finally been able to put our complete trust in the channel markers despite seeing rock so clearly on either side of the boat.

We often see rock that has been stained orange from the tanin in the water from the pine trees.
