Sun July 19: Ojibway Bay to 12 Mile Bay (Wani Bay anchorage)

After we left Ojibway Bay, we passed Chimney Bay where many boats had been anchored for the storm.  It wasn’t as secure as the dock we were on, but it was the next best thing.

We traveled for a hair-raising 45 minutes through Big Dog Channel, which took us to the other side of the peninsula, which by land would have taken less than five minutes.

Remember all the times I said Peter was navigating narrow channels. I was lying.  Big Dog Channel was narrow.  For real this time. I was posted on the bow with my headset on to look out for rocks. It does not look nearly as harrowing on the video as it was in real life 😳

It was the last few minutes of the 90° that were really alarming.
After we were through Big Dog Channel, we continued through a very busy area called Honey Harbor.

Beyond Honey Harbor, the houses were in more remote areas accessible only by boat.

And then there were only lighthouses and markers protecting us from the rocks, often just below the surface.

These were obvious enough not to require a marker.

It was a beautiful cruising day.  The pictures just can’t do it justice.

And then we enjoyed yet another beautiful sunset at our anchorage in Wani Bay.
