Mon June 1: New Baltimore NY to Troy NY (Troy City Dock)

The super helpful staff at Donovan’s got us sprung off on yet another windy day with fast-moving current.  As we continued upriver, the rural lake houses and mansions gave way to an industrial scene.  Peter took a big circle to get behind a barge that was moving faster than us on its way to Albany.

We didn’t have as far to travel today as we had moved an hour and a half further north yesterday than planned to get to the pump-out.  We pulled up to the Troy City Docks, which are excellent floating docks in very good condition.  It’s not as scenic as a lot of the marinas we’ve been to, but we enjoyed eating our dinner on the boat while we watched the swallows swoop, swish, and glide over the water for theirs.
