Tues May 26: Cape May to Atlantic City, Brigantine anchorage

Up at 5:30 this morning to check the conditions.  We could hardly see the marina from the boat, and we certainly couldn’t see the Coast Guard tower just across the channel, so we thought it would be a few hours before the fog would dissipate.  But then, around 7:00 AM, conditions suddenly became much clearer.  So a quick stop at the pump-out and goodbye, Cape May!  Finally.  It was a little disconcerting not being able to see the shoreline because of the fog, and at first, we couldn’t really distinguish between the sea and the skyline.  But very quickly visibility was excellent, and more importantly, there were no waves, just a gentle two-foot swell that was very comfortable while we were underway for about five hours.  We anchored out easily and enjoyed what turned out to be a beautiful, cool, and peaceful evening.

Doug kindly snapped a pic for us. So nice because it’s not often we can get one of the boat underway.
See ya, Cape May Canyon Club Marina.
Amy’s pic of Wildwood ferris wheel from their boat I’d guess about a mile from shore.
Could barely distinguish the sea from the sky.
But then not long after we could.
Here comes the sun (doo da doo da doo).
Atlantic City about 15 miles out.
180 of the anchorage.
