Wed May 20 – Mon May 25

Cape May NJ

Well, we beat feet down here (beat prop, beat rudder?) so that we could hit the two-foot wave window out on the Atlantic, but now that we’re here, the forecast has changed, and there are 3-4 foot waves and 30 knot winds – no thank you.  So once again, we find ourselves stuck in Cape May.  I know – poor us – but the slip fees are twice what they would have been if we had stayed in Bear DE.

We were stuck here on the way back from Montreal in 2024. I told Peter we would never again stay at Utz’s Marina, where they had a picture of Biden on the diesel pump with the words “THANKS BIDEN!”. I feel like marching over there and asking them how they like the diesel prices now.  That would fix ‘em.

At least we’ll be ready to jump straight on the ocean as soon as the conditions are right.

In the meantime, Cape May is a charming town, and we’ll get ourselves a night out to walk around the town and a trolley tour of the old Victorian waterfront mansions. We might even go walk down the boardwalk just for old times’ sake.
