Sun May 17, 2026: Deale MD to Worton Creek

Underway at 8:55 AM! A bit of a slow start as we had to get into the groove of our routine.  I was all prepared with a spring line to keep our turn tight in a very narrow fairway from our temporary slip, but it wasn’t needed as Captain Peter guided us out expertly.  Feels fabulous to be on the water again after a week of cleaning and provisioning.

Couldn’t be a more perfect day, mostly sunny, high 80, and less than one foot waves on the bay, nearly flat. We were surprised that there was hardly any other boat traffic.

Took the obligatory pictures under the Bay Bridge – it never gets old 🙂 Eight cargo ships anchored waiting to get into Baltimore. The Maran Harmony was heading to Rotterdam.

First stop, Worton Creek, where we’re anchoring out for our first night.  It’s a lovely, peaceful spot.  I stashed six bottles of wine and a case of beer in the cupboards amongst the other important provisions like food and toilet paper (we have our priorities straight), so even if we don’t go much further, we’ll have a good time.

Here’s the link to part of our route.  Unfortunately, it doesn’t show us all the way to Worton Creek – user error I’m pretty sure.  I’ll do better next time.  https://share.nebo.global/voyage/897c92ed-09e5-4d6e-8171-4333772267ad

Ian dropped us off on Friday night. Our home for the next five months!
Happy to be on the water again!
